Is this the fourth year Hipstamatic has done the RetroPak grab bag of film and lenses? Just announced is a discounted RetroPak Four with lenses and film that are normally only available through other groupings. “Discounted” is 99 cents for the whole Pak, where normally 99 cents would get you one or two films with a single lens.
Here is the RetroPak Four list, available within the app (7 films and 5 lenses):
Each lens and film detail can be reviewed. It is a Pak though so you get all or nothing, even if you own a few of these Hipstamatic add-ons.

Easy digital Fish Eye photography with the iPhone
I own a variety of lens solutions for my iPhone to get a fish eye view of things around. Sometime though, I am without a lens and a shot should be best suited to have a 170 degree round impact. Most app solutions I have played with will do an acceptable job, generally though their output is rather low resolution. An app, InstaFishEye, is on the ‘simple’ side of impact but gives me a full 2048 x 2048 (using the built in share to Instagram is only 612 x 612) photo in my iPhone photo library.
The view finder of InstaFishEye shows a simple fish-eye effect added so you have an idea what you will have to use/edit later.
After a photo is taken, there are tuning options via buttons on either side of the shutter/next button. On the left is 2 additional fisheye lens effects as well access to the original photo without any effect added.
InstaFishEye offers a variety of simple full image filters to add a bit of age or uniqueness found through retro films.
As I said, save the photo to the iPhone photo roll is 2048 square. Sharing can be done directly through InstaFishEye to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and email.
Snap Magazine announces Gangster FreePak from Hipstamatic for the iPhone
Deep in the pages of the latest Snap magazine is a page announcing that Hipstamatic is offering a FreePak called Gangster Squad. The pak includes a lens, film and a vintage camera body. Be warned though, the magazine mentions that the ‘free’ offer is only till December 5th!!
The Gangster Squad Hipstamatic Pak includes the GS-O Film, Gsquad Lens and the retro Gangster Deco Camera Case (virtual).
The full page mention I first noticed in the latest copy of Snap Magazine. Notice the mention that Gangster Squad FreePak is a limited time offer.
Free iPhone Retro Camera with Film – Popular Lomo Cameras on your iPhone
I mentioned the Pudding social photo share service earlier. There is also a Pudding Camera, that seems to be a big secret. Non of my iPhone photographer friends seem to know anything about this fun little app.
Pudding Camera offers a variety of ‘retro’ cameras that you may recognize by their Lomo names. Also, instead of filters, the app has ‘film’ that gives the same effect as adding a filter. Choose a pair to use and snap away.
After photos are taken, they are added to a library within the Pudding Camera app. Go to the area via the thumbnail image in the lower corner. Photos are shown in an overview of thumbnails, opening a single image gives you info about the camera/lens used to capture the photo.
Swipe up/down on the left through the Lomo ‘like’ camera and across the film area for the different Pudding Camera film filters. The window showing the result of matching the camera/film together is nice.
The resulting Pudding Camera photo can be saved to the iPhone photo library or shared on the Pudding. To, Facebook and Twitter social services. Output photos are 1280 x 960.
